How well do you use your time?
Do you work on other things during study time?
Are you prepared to study when you sit down?
Do you eliminate all distractions?
Don’t be a procrastinator!
Make a list of all that needs to be accomplished that day/week.
Label each item H (high) or L (low).
Do high priority items first.
Ask yourself these questions…
Is this something that can be put off until later?
What will happen if I don’t so this right now?
What would happen if I didn’t do this at all?
Is this task connected to another one? Do I need to complete it before I can go ahead with another task?
When does this need to be done?
Study for a test or quiz first.
Next do assignments you need to read carefully for details.
Do rest of homework.
If you have two similar assignments, don’t do them back-to-back –- split them up to keep them distinct in your mind.
Go over quiz/test info to refresh your memory.
Break up a big project into small segments.
Estimate how long each segment will take.
Create a timeline to accommodate the entire project from start to finish.
Check off each segment as you complete it to give yourself a sense of accomplishment.
If you have 2 weeks to read a 100 page book, how many pages should you read each day?
Priority list not set in stone.
Adjust and adapt as the situation requires.
Allow for down time.
Allow time for chores, activities, exercise, and sleep!
If something comes up that throws off your timeline, revise it.
Are you spending too much or too little time on a subject.
How does the amount of time you spend on a subject compare with your grades in that subject?
Similar to assignment notebook only long term.
Schedule study time everyday.
Write down all other activities and practice times.
Record time spent studying here.
