The second graders are working hard on their writing skills. They have learned the main elements of a story and are writing stories using this knowledge. At the same time, they will be learning several different writing techniques. For example; rhyme, simile, and metaphor to name a few.
At the end of this quarter, each student will be able to have a writing portfolio that contains the stories they will write throughout the quarter. They will then choose their best work and enter it into a Young Writers and Illustrators’ contest.
